Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Elected officials, community leaders, healthcare professionals, past and present Board Directors, residents, staff and friends of our community gathered for an inside ribbon cutting ceremony on August 21, 2018 to celebrate the beginning of construction for Glen Hill Terrace, our new, 160 bed, long-term care home in Whitby!
As the sole, not-for-profit and charitable long-term care provider in Durham Region, Durham Christian Homes continues to work toward a $3 million dollar Capital Campaign that will help us expand our community to include a true continuum of care. We are thankful to have reached one-third of our goal to date but there remains a gap. Please give today. Support our Communities
Guided by our Christian principles, the DCH Family of Homes enrich the lives of the residents we serve and those who serve them in seniors' housing, assisted living and long-term care. We are committed to providing a real sense of community and take pride in ensuring that our residents are treated with compassion, respect and dignity.
As the only non-profit, charitable senior housing provider in Durham, our Family of Homes include independent living, assisted living and long term care residences in Whitby and Bowmanville with an annual operating budget of approximately $50 million and approximately 450 staff.
We currently receive funding through the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for our Bowmanville communities and endeavor to raise funds through internal fundraising initiatives and grant applications. Donations may be used to purchase equipment or to enhance programming and services that directly impact the quality of life for our residents. Monies may be used to purchase medical supplies, high-low beds, special programming equipment or to redecorate common areas.

Please print the Donation Form, indicating which community or project you would like to support. All cheques should be made payable to Durham Christian Homes Society Inc. Donations should be mailed to Durham Christian Homes, 200 Glen Hill Drive South, Whitby, Ontario, L1N 9W2. A charitable receipt will automatically be issued for all amounts greater than $25.00.
COMMEMORATIVE DONATIONS
Consider making a donation In Memory or In Honour of someone. Upon receipt of your contribution we will send an acknowledgement card indicating a gift has been made in memory or in honour of the recipient. No gift amount will be revealed. Please complete the In Memory/In Honour portion of the Donation Form to ensure your gift is acknowledged as per your request.
If a loved one has passed and you would like to request donations in lieu of flowers, please contact us for Commemorative Forms that can be provided to a church or funeral home. Alternatively, donors can be directed to our website to make a secure, on-line donation.
